Keth & Frankie
August 2022. The pandemic was a difficult and disruptive period of time for many. With unprecedented social distancing measures and worldwide travelling restrictions, many loved ones were separated indefinitely.
This was especially true for Frankie and Keth as well who are based in Miri and Bangkok respectively. Being on the opposite ends of the South China Sea, the spouse has been kept apart for two and a half years.
With the pandemic transitioning to an endemic phase resulting in the lifting of travel restrictions, Frankie decided that the conditions are right for their long awaited reunion. It was perfect timing as well with Keth’s birthday falling on the 9th of August. With that in mind, he decided to plan a special two-days celebration at the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
Their celebration started off with a luxurious stay at Traders Hotel, which offers a majestic view of the Petronas Twin Towers and Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) Park.
After check-in and settling down in their scenic twin-towers view room, they proceeded to the Traders Club Lounge located on the 32nd floor for their complimentary free-flow of evening cocktails and canapes. Refreshed and energised, they then popped over to the 33rd floor to check out the award-winning Skybar with it’s indoor pool and cabanas.
Their next stop was the beautiful KLCC park, a lush 50-acre urban sanctuary. This was the setting for their walk down memory lane as it is a throwback to their wedding photoshoot which took place in Keth’s hometown in Thailand.
With hands held, they walked side-by-side under the golden hour reminiscing and appreciating each other’s company.
Having worked up an appetite, they moved on to Four Seasons hotel where they were escorted to their dinner reservation at the internationally renowned restaurant, Nobu.
With 32 locations worldwide, Nobu offers a unique experience of contemporary Japanese cuisine infused with South American flavours. With floor-to-ceiling windows, they dined to a delectable 6-course menu with a panoramic night view of the lighted up KLCC park and twin-towers.
“Didn’t expect in my wildest dream“
The celebration continued to the next day at Skillet@163, situated along Jalan Perak. With a contemporary urban setting, Skillet serves modern European cuisine and evolves seasonal ingredients of the European continent, infused with carefree ideas to mix, match and experiment unfamiliar flavor profiles.
Here, the lovely couple savored a delightful 5-course dish that was thoughtfully prepared and impeccably presented by their culinary team. This unique experience was a fitting end for a special double-celebration full of cherished memories.
